My darling father-in-law, I want you to be well soon! The day I married your daughter was a very important day in my life, it was the beginning of my new family.

My dad has been in and out of the hospital since December fighting cancer. Fortunately, he is doing well right now.

There are so many things in this world I do not understand.

So many problems and issues that are far too big for me to handle. But, there is one thing that I do know, the one thing I do completely understand…

I know you will get through this. You are strong and healthy. I know you can beat this cancer if you try. You have a family that loves you and can’t wait to see you soon. I LOVE YOU, DAD, GET WELL SOON!

I am sending you lots of healing thoughts and prayers. I know that you were so excited and looking forward to your trip, especially since it would be all about Miles.

I just wanted to let you know that we ALL love and miss you SO much. We are so sad that you have to be in the hospital, but we hope that you will be able to come home soon.

You’ve been there for me from the time I was born and I will be forever grateful. I want you to get well soon. Get back to the diner and watch sports with your boys!

I can’t wait to see you again, my little Buddy. For now, we miss you so much and couldn’t imagine life without you.

Soon enough though, it will be just like old times again. We love you and hope that the surgery goes well.

I know you feel that I hardly know you. It’s hard for me to put my feelings into words. But I hope that this brings a little comfort and reassurance to you in your time of need.
